Bookstore Program:

The Student E-rent Pilot Project offers the opportunity for all students to experience significant cost savings when renting their course materials. By participating in STEPP's textbook distribution partner's CourseSmart store program, any college bookstore can offer low-cost, accessible course materials to all of their students. The accessibility features now available through the use of CourseSmart eTextbooks remain available even if books are rented through the college bookstore program.

Utilizing their point-of-sale system, many college bookstores make CourseSmart materials available for rental purchase within the store or at the store's ecommerce site. Students seeking to rent one of CourseSmart's accessible books through their college bookstore will pay for their material at the store. The bookstore will then provide the student with an access code and instructions on how to access the rented material on any internet capable device. Stores may choose instead to sign up as a CourseSmart affiliate. Links from the store's site will take the students to CourseSmart where they can make a direct purchase.

By becoming a CourseSmart partner through their own point of sale system or by signing up as an affiliate, bookstores provide the opportunity for all students to select and receive their accessible course material in a convenient and low-cost environment. Many bookstores are already CourseSmart point of sale partners or affiliates. If you are a bookstore interested selling CourseSmart titles, go to CourseSmart college stores for more information.
